Trust must be supported by information and accountability.

ProtoFund is building a transparency system that allows people, partners and donors to understand how the organisation is governed, how programs use resources and what results have been achieved.

Organisation transparency

  • legal registration;
  • charter and governance structure;
  • leadership and board;
  • annual reports;
  • financial statements or summaries;
  • policies;
  • institutional partners;
  • conflicts of interest;
  • contact and complaints channels.

Program transparency

  • purpose and target group;
  • responsible organisation and partners;
  • location and dates;
  • approved budget and sources of finance;
  • activities and milestones;
  • results and limitations;
  • update date;
  • feedback and complaints route.

Evidence standard

ProtoFund distinguishes verified facts, calculations, expert assessments, scenarios, targets, proposals and information gaps. Important statements should be linked to an identifiable source or clearly marked as judgement.

Data access

Where safe and lawful, program information should be available in both understandable public formats and structured formats suitable for analysis.

Feedback and corrections

Visitors must be able to report an error, submit a complaint or request information. Publish response times and the responsible contact.
